How to Create a Family Tree on Windows Using Family Tree Collage

Creating a family tree is a simple way to organize your family members and see how everyone is connected. The Family Tree option in this Windows app lets you create a tree, add your personal details, connect parents, spouses, and children, and view the complete family structure in one place.

In this tutorial, we will focus only on the Family Tree option and explain everything step by step in simple language.

What Is the Family Tree Option?

The Family Tree option is designed to help you build a digital family tree on your Windows PC. You can create a new tree, give it a name, add your details, upload a profile photo, and then add other family members.

You can also connect family members using options such as:

• Add Spouse
• Add Child
• Edit Member
• Delete Member
• Export Family Tree

This makes it easier to build your family structure step by step instead of entering everyone at once.

Step 1: Open the Family Tree Option

Start the app on your Windows computer.

On the main screen, you will see different collage options. Look for the Family Tree Collage option.

Click Family Tree Collage to open the family tree section.

If you are using the app for the first time, the screen will show a message such as No Family Tree. You will also see a + Create Family Tree button in the center.

Click + Create Family Tree to begin.

Step 2: Give Your Family Tree a Name

After clicking the create button, a small Create Family Tree window will appear.

The app asks you to give your family tree a name. Enter any name that will help you identify the tree later.

Then enter the Last Name.

Step 8: Add a Parent

After creating the first family member, you can start connecting other people.

Click the main person’s card.

A circular menu will appear around the selected person.

One of the options is Add Parent.

Click Add Parent to add a parent to the selected family member.

You can then enter the parent’s details in the member form, including their name, gender, date of birth, and photo if required.

After saving the information, the parent will be connected to the selected person.

The family tree will automatically show the relationship with connecting lines.

Step 9: Add a Spouse

You can also add a spouse to a family member.

First, select the person you want to connect.

The circular action menu will appear.

Click Add Spouse.

Enter the spouse’s information in the form.

After creating the member, the spouse will appear beside the selected person.

Click + to zoom in and see the family cards more closely.

Click − to zoom out and see more of the family tree at once.

Step 14: Rename Your Family Tree

You can rename an existing family tree whenever you need to.

At the top of the window, select the current family tree and click Rename.

Enter the new name and save it.

The app also allows you to create more than one family tree.

Click + New Family Tree at the top of the screen.
